About Brian

I just see it my way

I was born in Warrington, England in 1953, When I was twelve in 1965 my family emigrated to Australia. When the family returned to Britain, I joined the Merchant Navy it was at this time I started to draw and paint for pleasure.

On leaving the Merchant Navy I began working as a commercial artist I was also studying art at night class. Moving to London gave me the opportunity to spend time in the major galleries, studying the artists that inspired me.

I started working with Computer Graphics in 1984 when I was running my own design studio. In 1989 I took a post at Preston College as a full-time lecturer in Computer Graphics and Graphic Design.

By 1995 I had returned to freelance work as this gave me the time to work on my own projects as well at to continue to design and teach in London advertising agencies.

Moving to France in 2004 I started to work full-time on my own projects. Working at painting, drawing, photography as well as time based.

Moving to Berlin in 2007 was like coming home, I worked on my own projects and made shows for large groups of artists, at turn-berlin Gallery, on leaving with much sorrow I also knew it was time for me to spend more time on my own work.

Working in Liverpool has given me the chance to develop my own practice.
